On Consolidation
I’ve always thought that the separation of projects was a good thing. Having separate tangible outlets for all the little things I want to do - home renovation! floral design! doggie flower walks! candles! art! etc! etc!
But as I’m realizing not everything has to be a monetized thing (hard when you make your living as a creative entrepreneur), some things can just exist to exist.
If they become a way of living, great!
If they just bring me joy, great!
And they can all live in one place on the internet under one body of work (for the most part- candles will probably always live separately from this Substack).
I briefly thought about bringing another Substack to life just on home decor / design / renovation, but no, I can’t. And mostly due to time. Everything takes time, and I just want one place to be consistent, I’m hoping it’s this one.
So an actual goal (though I promised myself a tangible goal-less existence this year): a post a week here. Maybe two, if I’m feeling it?! But not getting crazy about it. And as free as they come. One week home decor, another coffee, the next flowers, and then back to art again, or whatever the heart wants.
The goal is here is to live creatively. To make something. To do something. To physically engage in the world around myself, and while that world is primarily the little row home I occupy with my little family (sometimes the candle studio or shop), we’ll engage in it all here, under one roof, however it works for us.
